Sandbag are helping us at Barungwarra again.

On Wednesday 5th May, Sandbag trainees commenced a weekly
session, helping us at Barungwarra. They cleared a large area around
the dirt pile, of weeds and constructed a large mullock heap using black
plastic nearby.
Bushies surprised by natural seeding of Gum trees.
.
At our recent bushies work day on 21st August, we were surprised
to find a number of gum trees which had self propagated in one of
the new tree beds. Bushie Sue, initially spotted a couple whilst
spreading mulch so we decided to put protective guards around
them. As we worked, we noticed many more seedlings and had to
make several trips to the shed to bring more stakes and guards to
protect them. after staking and protecting 16 new trees in a small
area, we decided to leave the smaller ones as they probably, were
not long term viable. Once they were protected, we mulched
around them.
